Piero Golia - On Record - Los Angeles Art Book Fair - MOCA
Piero Golia, On Record (three days conversation on general matters), 2014, Stone and steno paper
From January 30 - February 2, 2014, artist Piero Golia and Andrew Berardini spoke the entire open hours of Printed Matter's inaugural Los Angeles Art Book Fair. Their 16-hour conversation was transcribed by a court stenographer to create a book of a single edition. Typed in traditional stenotype, the book can only truly be read by a trained stenographer. Originally organized by Ben Lee Handler, the piece was subsequently exhibited at Gagosian Gallery in July 2015 for "Theories of Forgetting" curated by Aaron Moulton, where during the opening a trained stenographer read excerpts of the book aloud.
